Characters Name: Hajime Iwaizumi
Age: 17
Canon: Haikyuu!!
Canon Point: Chapter 128
Species: human
Gender: male
Orientation: Bisexual??; Hajime hasn't really displayed any sort of romantic interest in anyone, male or female. He's too busy babysitting Oikawa to really have a romantic life of his own but he would likely be interested in anyone who caught his eye, whether male or female.
History:
The wiki is very barebones so I'm writing my own. In terms of backstory, there is not much unless it relates to volleyball.
At some point or another, a young Hajime Iwaizumi somehow became acquainted with some snot nosed brat named Tooru Oikawa and somehow or another became something like friends with him. While it appears that Hajime was not initially as interested in volleyball like Tooru, as we see Hajime with a bug net laughing at Tooru who managed to hit himself with a volleyball in a flashback panel depicting the early stages of their friendship, in the next panel showing them in middle school, we see Hajime with a volleyball and looking at it seriously. Tooru and Hajime attended the same middle school, Kitagawa Daichii, where they both played on the volleyball team.
There the team did extremely well, however they could never seem to beat the team from Shiratorizawa, and their strongest player Wakatoshi Ushijima. While they were third-years, someone new joined the team, someone by the name of Tobio Kageyama, who was considered by many to be a prodigy. Hajime noticed as Tooru seemed to overwork himself trying to get his skill level even higher than before. He angrily forced Tooru to end his frantic after practice sessions so that he won't injure himself, except it was for naught. During a practice match, Tooru missed too many combinations and was substituted for Tobio.
Hajime noticed that Tooru was staying late after the practice match and went to check up on him, and just in time as he prevented Tooru from physically attacking Tobio. Afterwards he headbutted Tooru, angry at him that he was turning what is meant to be a team sport into something that was all about him. Later, they finally managed to win a set against Shiratorizawa and Wakatoshi, but still ended up losing the match. Hajime, along with Tooru, vowed to finally knock Shiratorizawa down a peg when they entered high school.
With that, Hajime graduated middle school and began to attend Aobajousai where he joined the volleyball team there as well. The next two years passed by, with Aobajousai still never seeming to be able to beat Shiratorizawa. By his third year, Hajime has become the ace of the team, as well as the Vice Captain. Aobajousai played a practice match against Karasuno and lost, mainly due to Tooru being absent until the very end. Afterwards, Hajime berated Tooru for stating that he'll only lose to Tobio in tosses.
Within the next few weeks, Aobajousai faced Karasuno once again, this time in an actual tournament setting. This match was one that was more evenly matched. While Aobajousai won the first set, they lost the second due to Tobio being able to read the immense amount of trust that Hajime and Tooru have (which Hajime vehemently denies). However, Hajime is far from being discouraged. Having noticed that Tooru's concentration has begun to slip as the match continues, coming face to face with the type of person that he hates the most, Hajime speaks to Tooru right as he's about to serve, reminding him that it won't do him any good to think about Wakatoshi when there's another opponent in front of him. With that, Aobajousai manages to win against Karasuno, advancing on in the tournament, eventually meeting Wakatoshi and Shiratorizawa in the finals.
They lost, yet again and again, lost their chance to be their prefecture's representatives at nationals.
Several months have passed by, spring has come and with it comes a new tournament. In spite of the fact that Hajime is a third-year and normally by now, he would have quit club activities to focus on preparing for college, Hajime still remains part of the team, hoping for one final chance to defeat Shiratorizawa. They played their matches and after a difficult match against Datekou Tech, in which Hajime scored the winning point, Aobajousai has entered the semi-finals, and their next opponents are once again, Karasuno.
Appearance: actual perfect man hajime iwaizumi
Personality:
"Don't get dragged into their pace."
As Vice-Captain of his team, Hajime Iwaizumi is a leader. He is a grounding presence, keeping others in line when it's possible that they might get ahead of themselves. During the practice match against Karasuno, Iwaizumi is quick to remind the first-years that they need to keep their heads straight, to not get caught up in the other team's actions. Hajime tends to stay in the background, working to make sure things are taken care of there. He works to support the team as best as he can and for the most part, he prefers it that way.
"Now we're even. Whichever way we get it, a point is a point."
While not overly showy, like the captain Tooru Oikawa, that does not mean that he isn't capable of showing off when needed. When the time comes for action, Hajime is capable of showing that he can spring into the spotlight. He can stand next to Tooru, which shows that he has a great deal of confidence in himself and his capabilities. When needed, Hajime is not going to sit by and let others do what he can do himself. He makes what he wants done through his own power, but he knows the value of the team.
He's a member of a team playing a team sport. While a bit redundant, that is an important aspect of Hajime to remember. The statement "There is no 'I' in team," is key here. While he does show off from time to time, especially when a match is getting intense, Hajime always remembers that he is a part of a team, and that everything he does, he's doing it for the team, and that he's not alone on the court. He remembers that there are five other people out there with him, fighting for the same thing he wants: victory.
"How about I make your other nostril bleed, too."
Though while Hajime has moments of maturity, he can be pretty immature at times, mostly when he's caught in the heat of the moment. He yells out during matches "Like hell I'll let you!!" when blocking shots. When a returning member of Aobajousai insults him and the other third-years, he quickly rolls up a sleeve as though he is about to get into a fight. Hajime has a bit of short temper and can get irritated very quickly, most often at Tooru Oikawa (who he tends to call "Assikawa" at times).
"How will someone who can't even see the opponent right in front of him manage to defeat the ones from here on out?"
It's important to note his relationship with Tooru Oikawa impacts Hajime a lot. Having known him since they were young, Hajime refuses to take any sort of shit from Tooru. Generally speaking, their relationship does not actually look as though they are actually friends. It looks as though that Hajime is Tooru's babysitter. He volunteers to bring Tooru back when he's out flirting with girls (choosing to do so by throwing a well-timed volleyball at his head). He yells at Tooru to make sure he doesn't tire himself out and that he should try to be the best in all aspects. Hajime even vehemently denies that they have a relationship where they have a large amount of trust in each other.
But it is hard to deny that they do trust each other a great deal. When Tooru is in a pinch, Hajime is right there to support him. Right when Tooru is having a difficult moment focusing on the match, Hajime speaks to him and reminds him to focus on this match, not any other. He keeps Tooru from physically attacking Tobio when they're in middle school and forcefully reminds him that volleyball is a team sport. They have a push-pull relationship where they both support and rely on one another.
In short, Hajime Iwaizumi is a man who looks at his life and wonders what terrible thing he did in a past life to be punished like he is.
Abilities: Hajime is 100% human, so all his capabilities are within normal physical bounds. His skills lie mainly in power, stamina, jumping and speed. As the ace of Aobajousai, Hajime scores the most points, which means he needs to be able jump quickly so that he can clear the net and avoid blockers and also be able to maintain strong attacks throughout the length of a match, which could be endless as there is no time limit in volleyball. As for mentally, he can keep his head in the game and recognize when his teammates are getting distracted. He knows what to say and when to say it to make sure that they get their head back where it needs to be.

Practice makes perfect.
Most people say that, yet they won't understand that the more you practice something without correcting it, the more likely you are to get it wrong when the time comes that it's needed. Practice makes permanent. That's what the saying should be. The more you fix stuff when you practice, the more likely you are to get it right once practice is over.
Hajime is taking a moment to hydrate himself before practice, and looking over what the rest of the team is doing. First-years are working on their receives while second-years and some of the other third-years work on their attacks. He nods to no one in particular, looking to see if there's anything major that needs to be fixed at that moment. Nothing is popping out to him as needing fixing, and he's about to join them when a strange sound catches his attention.
It's almost too faint to hear, but he's heard it enough times to know what it means.
Hajime looks back to the team to double check and notices that there is a suspicious absence, an absence that makes sense when you factor in the sound he just heard. Slowly, an angry grin grows on his face as he heads outside the gym, grabbing a stray volleyball along the way.
His suspicious are confirmed the minute he steps outside, seeing Tooru Oikawa being surrounded by a group of girls, all of them wearing uniforms from other schools.
Practice makes permanent.
He knows the exact angle and force to throw the ball to make sure it hits Tooru and recoil straight back to him. He's done it so many times he can do it in his sleep.
Tooru's felt the hit and right as he's about to say something, Hajime beats him to the punch.
"Assikawa, you're late!!"
